Geography Field Trip 2005

The Lower Sixth residential Geography AS level field trip took place at the Field Studies Council centre at Preston Montford near Shrewsbury the first weekend of the half term holiday.
This field trip provided the opportunity to collect and analyse fieldwork information for the coursework component of the AS level examination. Two days were spent collecting information. The first day was spent in Shrewsbury examining the urban morphology of the town whilst the second day, in extreme weather conditions that included a blizzard, was spent in Candy Woods examining the ecological and soil structure of this heritage area.
The third day was spent in the warmth of the centre's laboratory where initial findings were analysed in detail using the specialist laboratory equipment of the centre before returning home exhausted early that evening.
