Seikyo Gakuen High SchoolLost In TranslationHereford Cathedral School was proud to host a class of Japanese pupils from Seikyo Gakuen High School over the last two weeks. The Japanese students studied and stayed with pupils from the school and during this time they lived and became friends with host families and participated in a number of social and cultural activities. Activities included spending a couple of days at Stratford-Upon-Avon, visiting Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s house and getting an exclusive tour of the RSC as well as a tour of the local area, including the Hereford Cathedral, the Mappa Mundi and the Chained Library. The students also appeared on BBC television when they were introduced to the the Bishop of Hereford by the Boy Bishop as well as have being introduced to the Mayor of Hereford earlier in the week. During their stay, the Japanese students became fully integrated into the life of the school and presented a musical school chapel and participated in many senior school lessons. The ties between Hereford Cathedral School and Seikyo Gakuen High School are now stronger than ever.
