Monitors Training Weekend

A step too far...Over the weekend the newly appointed acting school monitors trooped off to the wilderness of Michaelchurch Escley to take their first steps towards fulfilling their responsibilities under the guidance of the school's SMT. They took part in a range of team building exercises and discussed thought-provoking hypothetical scenarios, designed to test their natural instincts in a given situation, as well as their ability to follow directions and to respond well to authority.

Trust in me..

The acting monitors thoroughly enjoyed the command tasks designed by Mr Batchelor, including a particularly hectic challenge which involved a line of blindfolded monitors being directed by a fellow trainee through dense undergrowth. The highlight of these, for the onlooking staff at least, was the competition between teams of monitors erecting tents blindfolded whilst being given instructions from afar.

Blind faith..Patience was a virtue as discovered by all and an acknowledgement that ''most' problems can be solved through teamwork and discussion.

The day was extremely successful on all counts, not least from the positive input provided by the acting monitors on the design and use in the future of the new Sixth Form Centre.
